Mae Croeso I Bawb – All Are Welcome, No Experience Necessary.
If you’ve come to this page then hopefully you’re thinking of joining us. Here’s a little more about us to help you decide. Membership is open to all, whatever your skill level. You don’t need a wonderful voice or be able to read music. Nor do you need to be Welsh! You just need to be able to hold a note and want to be part of a group of like minded men who enjoy making music and enjoying ourselves.
We sing in four-part harmony – Top Tenor, Second Tenor, Baritone and Bass and if you don’t know what you are, our Musical Director can listen and help you decide. There aren’t formal auditions but we do have voice assessments which are usually informal and done by fellow choristers within your voice part.
We sing at concerts and other events roughly 14-16 times a year and rehearse every Thursday throughout the year (except for a Christmas break). We also hold an annual dinner and summer & Christmas parties. The social aspect is important, many choristers gather in the local pub after a concert to continue singing and wives and partners are encouraged to be part of our community. Music is provided on loan, as are uniform jackets (for a small deposit) but you will have to purchase suitable trousers & shirts etc. All for a very modest subscription equating to under £3.00 a week.
