Laudamus (Bryn Calfaria)

Bryn Calfaria (Hill of Calvary) : hymn tune arranged by Daniel Protheroe under the title Laudamus, said to have been written originally on a piece of slate by William Owen (1813 - 1893) on his way to work at the Dorothea Quarry.

Daniel Protheroe (b Cwmgiedd, nr Ystradgynlais, 24 Nov 1866; d Chicago, 25 Feb 1934). Welsh conductor and composer. Before his voice broke, he won at the National Eisteddfod in 1880 and 1881.
