Our 89th Annual Concert began with our visitors from Ogmore Valley Male Voice Choir at the front.

Samantha then sang a piece by Rodrigo, accompanied by classical guitarist Alex Roche. She is sitting as this is the traditional way to perform this particular music. We will see them both again in Autumn 2018 and at the Albert Hall.

Andrew had to stay with the organ throughout the concert. He doesn't really mind as it gives him a rare chance to play a fantastic instrument.

Sophie and Charlotte joined us for their final set, ending with 'We'll gather lilacs' by Ivor Novello.

Between choir sets we were entertained by Charlotte Tetley and Sophie Pullen. In this scene Sophie is 'hiding' from Charlotte.


A surprise extra was the presentation by Arthur Brady of the Geraint Morris Memorial Award to Samantha Oxborough. Arthur Brady is the General Secretary of the Welsh Association of Male Choirs.

After the interval Oxford came to the front and Helen Swift conducted, accompanied by Tim Croston and organist Andrew Patterson.

No Annual Concert can be complete without singing Mae Hen. We will return to the Town Hall on 27th October 2018 for our 90th Birthday Concert with guest choir Côr Meibion De Cymru.
